Beyond Limits Herbert Nitsch was given the prestigious title of The Deepest Man on Earth, when he set the current world record for free-diving at an incredible depth of 214 metres in 2007.

As one of the spearheads of free-diving today, Herbert intends to push the limits even further by becoming the first breath-hold athlete to break the 300- metre barrier.

altToday was a fairy quiet day for us. We went to the registration and saw Grant Graves break a few safety lanyards, which we had to bring for official approval and testing. At the opening ceremony we were provided with our national flags. Being the only Austrian and the first country in alphabetic order, I had a lonely walk up to the stage. After photos and speeches, we were free to go. The guys in my apartment and I hurried to be the first to order at the "Rowdy Boys" for our fish burger meal and home for an early bed.
