Beyond Limits Herbert Nitsch was given the prestigious title of The Deepest Man on Earth, when he set the current world record for free-diving at an incredible depth of 214 metres in 2007.

As one of the spearheads of free-diving today, Herbert intends to push the limits even further by becoming the first breath-hold athlete to break the 300- metre barrier.

So far, I have only trained for constant weight with fins, but I still haven't made up my mind if I also want to compete in constant weight without fins or stick to my original plan to concentrate only on constant weight with fins.

On top of that I will attempt some world records directly after the WC, in several disciplines. Variable weight is one of them. Sooner or later I will have to start building some kind of sled, which is tricky since the counter-weight system does not allow sufficient weight to be used needed for a conventional sled setup.

Anyhow, no deep dives today. I was planning for a 70m dive without packing, just to feel some pressure. Unfortunately my nose-clip came loose on the descent, so I lost my air for equalisation and consequently turned early. After this 60m dive I waited some 20 minutes in the beautiful afternoon sun, before I dove to 70m, borrowing a better nose-clip from Johan.
