Beyond Limits Herbert Nitsch was given the prestigious title of The Deepest Man on Earth, when he set the current world record for free-diving at an incredible depth of 214 metres in 2007.

As one of the spearheads of free-diving today, Herbert intends to push the limits even further by becoming the first breath-hold athlete to break the 300- metre barrier.

Day 16 - at the Freediving World Championships 2009 in the Bahamas

Hey what a surprise, I dove to 100m today. The only difference was that I was doing it with a countdown, like in the competition and pretending to retrieve the bogttom tag, since we didn't have any test tags. Surprisingly I was even faster again. Why - I have no clue, maybe because my suit is getting compressed. Anyhow I guess its good.

The Blue Hole is getting crowded these days, as more and more athletes have arrived. Sebastian Naslunds is the official organizer of the World Championships. His planing is taking care of the time-slots for training.
