Beyond Limits Herbert Nitsch was given the prestigious title of The Deepest Man on Earth, when he set the current world record for free-diving at an incredible depth of 214 metres in 2007.
 
As one of the spearheads of free-diving today, Herbert intends to push the limits even further by becoming the first breath-hold athlete to break the 300- metre barrier.

Day 12 - at the Freediving World Championships 2009 in the Bahamas

Today...hmmm, let me think...oh yes, I slept in which is not normal for me.  This left me out of sorts which was reflected in my diving.  Not that I was short of a good training depth but, it just took me longer to warm up to it.  After the depth training we were off for some spearfishing complete with a Japanese film crew in tow.  Amazingly, these guys were able to catch up to Rob King, Will Winram and myself who had entered the water well in advance of them.  They were also using scuba gear which does not allow them the same speed in the water that we enjoy.  Spearfishing was great fun, managed 3 grouper and a nice mackerel.  Now, I am tired and ready for a good nights sleep before training again tomorrow.
